The settings
| Setting | Effect | Worth changing |
|---|---|---|
| Branding | Logo and colour on the signing page and emails. | Once, at setup. It comes from [Branding](/docs/platform/branding). |
| Reply-to address | Where a confused signer replies. | Yes — a monitored mailbox, not a noreply. |
| Reminder schedule | When unsigned envelopes are chased. | Yes. This is the setting that converts. |
| Default signing order | Sequential or parallel. | Match your commonest case. |
| Expiry | When an unsigned envelope lapses. | Depends on your contracting cycle. |
Settings
A signer who is confused replies to the email rather than contacting you another way. If that reply goes nowhere, the envelope stalls and nobody knows why — the reminders keep going out to somebody who has already tried to ask a question. It is a two-minute setting and it accounts for a real share of envelopes that never complete.
Retention
Completed envelopes and their audit trails are kept. Nothing deletes them automatically, and there is no configurable retention period. If your policy requires deletion after a period, that is a manual process today — and worth knowing before you rely on a policy you have written down.
What this does not do
Documents are kept until deleted by hand.
Reminders and expiry are module defaults or per envelope.
The wording of signature requests is not editable.
There is no callback when an envelope completes.
Questions
Can each brand have its own look?
Branding is per organisation. Per-brand signing branding is not supported.
Can we turn reminders off?
Yes, per envelope.
Where are documents stored?
With us, alongside the audit trail.
