What it is for
Canvas is for the stage of work where structure has not arrived yet — mapping a process, sketching a system, running a retrospective, arranging things until they make sense. It is the module people reach for in a meeting, and the one nobody opens alone.
It deliberately does not try to be a document tool or a diagramming tool. The value of a whiteboard is that anything can go anywhere and nothing has to be finished, which is precisely what makes it a bad place to keep anything permanent.

Whiteboards accumulate decisions that nobody writes down anywhere else, and then the board is edited and the decision is gone. When a board produces a decision, put the decision in the thing that owns it — a task comment, a work order, a document. The board is the thinking, not the outcome.

What this does not do
Boards are shared within your organisation. A client cannot be invited to one.
A board has a current state. There is no timeline to roll back to.
There is no frame-by-frame presenting.
Collaboration is on the canvas, not around it.
Boards export as an image, not as editable diagram source.
Questions
How many people can edit at once?
Several. It is built for a meeting, not a conference.
Can we embed a board elsewhere?
No.
Are boards searchable?
By title, within the module.
