What it is for

Projects is where work is planned and tracked. It suits delivery work with a shape — client projects, internal initiatives, anything with a start, an end and people responsible for parts of it. It is not a ticketing system and not a personal to-do app, though it does both adequately.

The structure is four levels and you do not have to use all of them. A task is a piece of work with an owner and a date. A project is a set of tasks with a purpose. A portfolio is a set of projects reported together. A goal is an outcome that projects contribute to. Most teams use tasks and projects and nothing else, which is fine.

Where the comments are

Most of what a team knows about a piece of work ends up in task comments rather than in documents. That is worth knowing when you are looking for a decision that was made six months ago — search across comments is usually a faster route to it than any file store.

The old address still works

pm.erp.io redirects here permanently, with and without the mount, so old bookmarks and links in emails keep working.

In this section

What this does not do

No resource management

There is no capacity planning, utilisation view, or allocation across people.

No time tracking

Tasks do not record time spent. Project profitability is not computed here.

No dependencies with scheduling

Tasks can reference each other; there is no critical path that reschedules automatically.

No client access

Clients do not log in here. That is the Client Portal.

No Gantt editing

Timeline is a view, not a planner you drag to reschedule a chain.

Questions

Can clients see a project?

Not in this module. Share work through the Client Portal instead.

Does it track time?

No.

Can we template a project?

Yes — duplicate an existing project as a starting point.
