A shadow ledger reconciles against your books for months before any migration is contemplated. A meaningful share of customers stop before that point, which is a legitimate outcome.
Being specific about this saves everyone a month. We have no manufacturing capability — no bills of material, no routings, no MRP, no shop-floor control — and none of it is on the roadmap. We have no warehouse management: no bin logic, no wave picking, no barcode workflows.
Our statutory coverage is US-centric. We do not handle local compliance filing across multiple jurisdictions, which is two decades of accumulated work we have not done. We are cloud only and will not offer on-premise deployment.
Our industry guide for manufacturing exists to tell manufacturers to buy Acumatica or NetSuite instead of us. That is not modesty; it is that a hedged version of that page would waste your demo slot and end badly in month four.
Nead, LLC operates as DEV.co, a software and integration practice. erp.io grew out of repeatedly seeing the same problem across client engagements: companies between $10M and $100M whose accounting system was fine and whose reporting, consolidation, and manual processing were not — and who were being quoted six-figure ERP replacements to fix a dimensional data problem.
The integration practice came first and still accounts for a large share of what we do. The platform followed because the integration work kept producing the same next question: now that the data agrees, why is a person still keying five hundred invoices a month?
Bootstrapped. We have taken no venture capital and no outside investment. Revenue comes from customers who pay us for software and services, and from nobody else — no vendor referral fees, no affiliate arrangements, no sponsored content.
That has two consequences worth stating. We can publish a directory that ranks us fourth and an industry guide that sends manufacturers to a competitor, because no investor is asking why. And we grow at the rate revenue allows, which means our partner network, talent pool, and operating history are all smaller than the incumbents we compete with.
It is not a security failure or a control gap. It is that we are a young company and you would be running finance operations on our software. Fewer references, less operating history, a small team, and no SOC 2 Type II report yet.
The mitigation we can actually offer is not a promise about our prospects. It is that a complete, current copy of your data sits in storage you control, produced automatically on a schedule you set, in open documented formats including the audit trail. If we cease to exist, you hold a dataset a competent team can load elsewhere.
We recommend testing that export during evaluation rather than after signing. Ask for a sample against a demo tenant and load it somewhere. Reluctance from any vendor to let you do that tells you something.
