What to do in the meantime

  • Keep drawings and models wherever they are today. Nothing in PLM will hold them.
  • Put the drawing reference in the part description or a field, so the link between a part and its drawing is at least recorded.
  • For documents that need signing — a specification sign-off, a supplier agreement — use Sign, which does exist and does record who signed what and when.
  • For documents a client needs, use the Client Portal.
Controlled copies are the part that has no substitute

A controlled copy is a document issued to a named holder, tracked, and withdrawn when superseded. Nothing in the suite does that. If your process requires it, it stays outside erp.io.
