What is there today
Placeholder pages. There is no document store in PLM, no CAD file handling, no specification management, and no attachments on parts or structures.
CAD files
No document storage, no CAD integration, no controlled copies. Keep drawings where they are.
What to do in the meantime
- Keep drawings and models wherever they are today. Nothing in PLM will hold them.
- Put the drawing reference in the part description or a field, so the link between a part and its drawing is at least recorded.
- For documents that need signing — a specification sign-off, a supplier agreement — use Sign, which does exist and does record who signed what and when.
- For documents a client needs, use the Client Portal.
A controlled copy is a document issued to a named holder, tracked, and withdrawn when superseded. Nothing in the suite does that. If your process requires it, it stays outside erp.io.
